Overview
As the Center of Industrial and Technical Excellence for Air Defense and Tactical Missile Systems, Letterkenny continues a tradition of supporting our soldiers and our Army for more than 60 years. Letterkenny has unique tactical missile repair capabilities repairing a variety of Defense Department missile systems including the HAWK, ATACMS, and GMLRS missile systems. The Depot also repairs the ground support and radar equipment for the PATRIOT missile. Most recently, Letterkenny has expanded its product line to include the overhaul of tactical wheeled vehicles (HMMWV's) and Mine Resistant Ambush Protected (MRAP) vehicles, material handling equipment (7.5Ton Cranes),Mobile Kitchen Trailers, force provider tent cities, and generator rehabilitation.
Comprising nearly 20,000 acres, a large land portion of the Depot is used to conduct maintenance, modification, storage and demilitarization operations on tactical missiles and ammunition. Letterkenny also partners with private industry allowing them to take advantage of the Depot's unique capabilities and workforce skills. Current partners include BAE Systems, Inc., Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Boeing, just to name a few. Letterkenny remains the top employer in Franklin County fueling an economic engine that propels over 1/4 Billion dollars annually into the region through payroll, contracts and retiree annuities
